4th of July fun

We enjoyed a fun 4th of July visit to Matt and Cami’s house, fireworks show, live music, paddle boats, backyard barbeque, swimming… it was a really fun trip!!  Thanks a million to Matt and Cami for having us, we always have a blast down there!

 

Since I haven’t blogged in so long it’s really time for me to write down a bit about how our kids are doing:

Jacob – he was a bit of a late walker but he is not a slow talker!  This kid surprises us often with what he can say and what he understands.  When I took him in for his 2 year check up we were getting ready to get in the car and he said, “mommy, dr have giraffe thing?”  I remembered that 6 MONTHS AGO she used a little giraffe shaped hammer to test his reflexes.  Sure enough when she pulled it out again he said, “Yay mommy dr have giraffe!”  Besides being so smart and articulate Jacob has innate interest in boy toys, which makes his daddy very proud; you know, cars, monsters, superman, fighting, trucks, being strong, etc.  He eats most everything and out eats his sisters most of the time.  He’s also a little sweetie, he asks for hugs and to be held many times a day.

Sophie – Is growing before our very eyes!  It seems she has matured many years in the last year, she is very capable and smart.  She is quite opinionated and likes things to go her way but is so easy to make her laugh she always wants to be laughing, wrestling and having fun.  Sophie is a wonderful reader and reads books on her own everyday, she can breeze through most any verse in the Book of Mormon like no one’s business.  One of her favorite things to do is make pictures and or signs to post around the house.  She also really enjoys playing “fight them all!” which is a game she and the neighbor kids came up with, I’m not sure of the rules but usually no one gets hurt. She is still a walking opera much of the time and writes songs about what’s she doing or thinking or changes the words to songs she knows to be humorous to her.

  

Ice cream!!!!!!!!!!!  It’s messy but oh so good, and makes for such happy spoiled kids.  What are vacations for anyway?

  

Watching the fireworks show.  They like it, and don’t like it… it’s pretty but loud and scary too.

  

Oh yes, it was a fun time!!
