A friend of mine organized a big group outing to an old amusement park called Lakeside. It was pretty (ahem) ghetto but the kids sure loved it! Bonus that it only cost $8 each for unlimited rides, not bad. I took too many pictures (as in nearly 200 photos), I’ll do my best to narrow it down.
Sophie only rode the frog hopper once, but has told me many times since that it was her favorite ride (Tessa was too short for this one).
Sophie was ready to go on the “big” rollercoaster, had her arms in the air waiting for it to begin… but by the time she came back around, she was holding on tight, but still with a big grin on her face! Sophie is definitely our thrill seeker.
Then, when I wasn’t looking Dan put Tessa on the rollercoaster ride too! I think I was just as nervous as her.
Here she comes around… (follow the red arrow) and, is she CRYING? Yep, definitely screaming her guts out! They stopped the ride and let her off, she was hysterical.
Here’s Dan receiving his parent of the day award.
Oh they were just pleased as punch to be there!!
It was rainy, and when it got too bad we would seek shelter and the girls would cry to ride more rides. Uncle Matt had the perfect solution, cotton candy! Soph can really pound that stuff.
Don’t mess with Tess…
Oh what a fun afternoon we had!! My girls have asked many times if we can go to “the rides” again. We’ll have to go back sometime!

What fun girls! I love the pictures; they really show their personalities. Lots of the rides look like Lagoon oldies.
