Moving to Denver

After Joni and Matt's wedding on Saturday we took Sunday off and then started packing all of our belongings promptly at 5:00 a.m. Monday morning. By Monday at 5:00 p.m. all of our things were packed and loaded on the HUGE truck we rented. We had help from a few family members who were available on a weekday, which was nice.

Dan and my dad left at 6 Tuesday morning and arrived at our new apartment 3:00 p.m. When I talked to Dan at 5:30 they had already unloaded the whole truck! Me, Sophie, my mom and Jonathan flew out Wednesday morning. (only took us an hour :)!)

We spent our time upacking boxes and getting settled as my parents played with their only grandchild as much as they could!

The guys hung a mirror for me over our stairs, Dan was very nervous about falling while my Dad look at home hovering over the 20 foot drop.

Here are some pictures of the apartment when it was empty, it's a nice place, we really like it. We have 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Our porch looks over a little pond in the middle of the community, which Sophie loves since she enjoys being outside, especially if there are trees or running water involved!

My first impression of Denver is good, it is different from Salt Lake mostly because the people are so different. Everyone seems to be really friendly, but just have different values than we do for the most part. I was shocked to find on the church web site that there are only two stakes in Denver! And Denver is twice the size of Salt Lake!! We went to church today and it was somewhat comforting that all of the meetings are the same. Our ward has a lot of young families like us, and we made a few friends. The weather seems to be very similar to what we are used to, the only thing missing are our mountains.

Sophie tried sweet potatoes for the first time on our second day here and I think she thinks Denver is alright!!

Check this cute picture out, Sophie found her toes today and can't leave them alone! She's been in this position most of the day.

Glad the move went well. I love that last picture of Sophie. It's so cute when they just sit there like that. Wouldn't it be great to be that flexible again.
