Back in July we had some visitors come to town, Dan’s parents and his brother Jason with his family. Isn’t Jaycee the cutest with my sunglasses? She’s got a great smile. These first pictures are from the Cherry Creek Art Festival, this was our 2nd year attending it was HOT but the art was very cool! Tessa and Lily are becoming such great friends lately, it’s really fun to watch.
Sophie appreciated the art, especially the statues asked me to take her photo with these 2. Sophie waved to passers by standing in front of this big blow up grocery sack with Lily, Tessa was too scared to get that close.
We loaded down our stroller with little girls, and got lots of comments from people, I’m sure I looked pretty baby happy having 3 in the stroller and being over 8 months pregnant! Oh well, people can think whatever they want.
Everyone but us biked to the festival from Matt and Cami’s place, don’t they look awesome? Dan actually took Nina’s spot and Sophie took Jaycee’s on the way back. Sophie loved it! I snapped this picture from across the intersection when I saw them on our way home, if you look carefully (follow the red arrow) you can see Dan and Matt on the corner.
Sophie saw the face painters at the festival but Mom was too cheap. :) Lucky for Sophie, her awesome uncle Matt pulled out some face paints when we got back and painted her up nice!
Tessa liked the idea of face paints but when it came down to it, was too scared, but let Matt paint her toes, silly girl! I think it was a first for Matt though. :) The girls love to water Matt and Cami’s yard with their little watering cans, they ask to do it every time we’re there, they are so nice to indulge my girls!
That afternoon Sophie got sleepy and in the midst of all the noise and commotion, just found a pillow and fell asleep in the middle of the living room! She sure was tired.
That evening the guys went out to see a movie (Transformers maybe??) while the girls went to the outlet malls and dinner. Good times.
Sunday afternoon we hung out some more at Matt and Cami’s. Of course my girls had to do their work in the yard… :) They wore their cute new dresses from our shopping spree the night before, Grandma’s treat.
Oh how we wish we had a back yard! If you have one, don’t tell me it doesn’t solve all of your parenting problems, because I don’t want to know… I want one and that’s what I am planning on! :) They play out there for hours.
Bubbles!!
Grandpa tried to take a rest on the grass… but that’s just an wrestling invitation to Sophie! She’s so tough and she’s never been beat. She enjoyed some time with Grandma, in a more serene environment. (Notice the giraffe she has tied to her back, he was her baby.)
Silly Tess…
After a delicious dinner of grilled steak, we roasted marshmallows in the fire pit. Well, we tried anyway. Didn’t work out so good, just got smoked mallows, not roasted. But the kids really liked eating marshmallows off the kabob sticks. Uncle Matt would do pretend magic and turn them into all sorts of things, mostly dogs and cats if I remember right, then the kids would eat them. They loved it!
Don’t know how it started but all the kids were trying to do the wheel barrow, Tessa was the only one strong enough to do it. That girl is buff! Sophie wanted to learn a head stand, Dan tried to teach her. I actually went over and did a tripod (8+ months pregnant mind you) to a headstand for Sophie as a demonstration. Luckily no photos where taken. ;)
It was sure fun having visitors! Thanks for coming guys.
